In the old days, we sent our children to "catechism", "CCD", or "PSR". The nuns, or father, or maybe someone's parents were catechism teachers. When we got home, our own parents would ask us what we learned and we'd certainly get the opportunity on Sunday to share our faith together at Mass.
Today, the world spins a little differently. We can't take for granted that The Catholic Faith is being passed down from parents to their children as many studies continue to show a decrease in Mass attendance and identifying with a particular religion. Further, demands for our children's time and attention are consumed by concern for academic performance, sports prowess, and social engagement.
Without the foundation and compass provided by the practice of one's Catholic religion within the context of family life, a cycle is continued whereby the essential truths of who Jesus is, what His Church is all about, and the relationship into which God invites me is lost and even considered unimportant. Our lives become only about school, about how we're seen in society, and/or what one can accomplish on their own power.
And yet, each of us yearns for this connection both to God and to a shared community of belief! The TriParishes Faith Formation exists to respond to this need in our all ages in our communities by offering online and in-person opportunities to learn about The Faith so that we can come to know the Author of Our Faith: Jesus Christ!
The TriParishes Faith Formation program is pleased to partner with My Catholic Faith Delivered and Ignatius Press to offer an opportinity for our parishioners of all ages to encounter the treasury of The Catholic Faith.
